New Zealand revisited and new areas explored

We arrived in March towards the end of a heatwave and drought. We left London on Easter Sunday during a heavy snowfall. We planned to drive down from Auckland to Taranaki and then to Rotorua for two or three days from which we would return to Taranaki and then down to the South Island. In the event the furtherest south we got was Eltham and then headed for Auckland from whence we drove all the way round Northland, as far North as Cape Reinga where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Oceans met. The drought broke while we were in Northland as one can see from one or two of the photographs. All photos taken with Nikon D70, handheld.
